People Sensor - Application and branding
Smarter smarthomes? With PeopleSensor, a cutting edge presence-based solution, we're personalizing the SmartHome experience.

Based on True Occupancy Automation, the PeopleSensor was designed with the goal of making SmartHomes an optimized personal experience. With an installed sensor at the entrance of every room, we could respond to the person's specific location using phones and wearables to activate the user's preferred settings. This technology allowed us to communicate with the various SmartHome devices through a single interface, while True Occupancy meant that we helped save on energy costs.
Intellithings, the parent company, was formed together with its 1st product. The shaping of the brand, developing the UX/UI of the app, and the commercial website were interwoven.

While our lifestyle becomes increasingly automated, a new complexity sets in. The starting point of the PeopleSensor application was a careful study of how people behave with Wearables at home, as well as how Smart Devices are used and configured. We were then able to utilize the Sensor to create a seamless experience of the personalized SmartHome.

True Occupancy Automation means that devices are in use only for the time that a user is actually in a room, while devices in other rooms are deactivated. More than an attractive feature for consumers, saving on energy and emissions is becoming a priority for all SmartHome technologies.

From lights to thermostats, computers to fans, every device needs different controllers. PeopleSensor offers a simplified approach to setting devices.

Users can choose to adjust settings via phone or computer, making SmatHome management flexible and more accessible for everyone.

What if two people share the room, or if it's a child and an adult? Prioritizing users and defining permissions was another challenge we faced.

The SmartThings market is ever-expanding. We designed to accommodate new appliances within the app, as well as being agile enough to iterate.
